Move your body, generate ideas
Do you have a movement practice?
You could say exercise, but we hear it so much it can feel stale, conjure up images of insane bootcamp workouts, or make you feel guilty. I prefer to use the term movement.
The mind and body are connected, no bones about it (hehe). We're familiar with the concept, but because Western thought for hundreds of years has focused on them as separate, I need to make a concerted effort to remember they're connected.
Moving around helps you think clearer. In his excellent book Spark, John J. Ratey, MD tells us:
Exercise unleashes a cascade of neurochemicals and growth factors that can reverse the process of [brain shrinking caused by chronic stress and depression].
Know anyone who doesn't want that? Nope.
